So, Schrodinger’s cat is both in and out of the bag. I’m trying to create a physical organization that champions including rhetoricians at the highest levels of politics, business, and life as we know it (give Rhetoric a seat at the table, y’all). To make that happen requires building out a Rhetoric of Rhetoric, a way to sell America that we would all be so much better off if we actually learned to consciously operate the original software that runs public discourse -- aka, the strategies and tactics of Rhetoric.
Dr. Dave Payne has retired from forty years or so in the academic arena, fighting tooth-and-tongue to install rhetoric awareness into the minds of young skulls. But I want him to come out of geezering and help figure how to get the good stuff of Rhetoric into the older, calcified brains of grown-ups who are struggling to figure out how to do politics and life in the modern now.
Will I succeed? With Payne? With getting Rhetoric its rightful seat at the round table of power?
Oh, you know. The struggle is real.
